ATG: Who are you, where are you from, and where do you live?
Ed Hendrix
I am a 58 year old retired Creative Director from the consumer advertising industry.
Grew up in central Florida, currently living in Punta Gorda, Florida.
ATG: Why art?
Because I can express my inner feelings and most pieces make people happy.
ATG: How is your personality reflected in your work?
Colorful, whimsical and a weathered look.
ATG: How do you overcome creative blocks?
The ocean.
ATG: What art do you most identify with?
I like bright and colorful pieces, that's what makes me happy.
ATG: What themes do you pursue?
Tropical/Coastal fish and birds.
ATG: Which Art Festivals do you enjoy the most?
My favorites include Art Fest by the Sea -Jupiter, FL
St Armand's in Sarasota
and Los Olas in Ft. Lauderdale.
ATG: What’s your strongest memory of your childhood?
My dad taking my brother and I to the beach or fishing every weekend..
ATG: What inspires you?
Anything nautical.
ATG: What is your most inspirational place?
Florida Keys
ATG: Professionally, what’s your goal?
I achieved my professional goals in the ad industry. This is just a dream come true.
ATG: Personally, what’s your goal?
To be sailing full time, just me and my wife within five years.
ATG: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
"Don't expect everyone to be like you" - my mom
ATG: What's the best piece of advice you can give?
Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.
